Liven up your Classroom with Pictures!

A teacher's workshop on 'using pictures' in the Classroom

A Picture is worth a thousand words! It can inject life into a boring piece of text, and provide a creative stimulus to a student’s fertile mind. A picture can change the way you teach and impact the learning process for the better.

To encourage its use within the learning environment, British Council Delhi is organising an exclusive workshop on 'Use of Pictures in Classroom Teaching' on 1 September 2010.

Dispel the belief that grammar and vocabulary are the main components of teaching a language. Using pictures in the classroom to teach the language not only cheers up the learners but also encourages creativity and critical thinking.

This exclusive workshop by Debi Mukhopadhyay aims at motivating participants to make use of pictures for a variety of stimulating language-learning and language-generating activities without taking away from the main focus i.e. teaching the language.

Debi Mukhopadhyay has over 24 years of experience in English Language Teaching, which includes Teacher training, facilitating and course designing. She has delivered courses and facilitated seminars in India, Bhutan and Turkmenistan. She has a Post Graduate Certificate in the Teaching of English from the CIEFL in Hyderabad and has also worked as a lecturer there for some time.
